Wiz Khalifa is celebrating the 15th anniversary of his iconic mixtape by dropping the official sequel featuring a slew of hitmakers.
On Friday, April 18, the Pittsburgh native delivered his long-awaited LP Kush + Orange Juice 2 via Taylor Gang/BMG. The album brings back all the nostalgic G-Funk vibes of the original with brand-new songs like "Red Eye," "What's Hannin" and "Super Duper High Outro," which samples Enchantment's 1977's hit "Silly Love Song." Wiz enlists popular acts like his good friends Ty Dolla $ign, Curren$y, Juicy J, Larry June, Chevy Woods and Smoke DZA along with newer artists like Gunna, Luh Tyler, LaRussell and more.
"It's just got that whole player vibe to it and a little bit of funk to it as well," Wiz tells The Breakfast Club about the album. "The way the beat slaps and the bass is there. So a lot of the production is Cardo, Sledgren, E Dan and just the original people who put that sound together. So it was really easy just to bring it back."
In addition to the aforementioned acts, Wiz also tapped Max B to hop on the project from behind bars. The Wave God has his own interlude that appears midway through the 23-track album. Wiz called Max B one of his favorite artists and said he was able to record his verse through a voice note on his phone.
