After the late rapper's album dropped on Friday (January 17), listeners noticed suspiciously familiar vocals on the set's fifth cut, "I Can See." If you head on over to Genius, you'll get confirmation via song credits that the fallen star's former girlfriend, 26, did indeed add some background vocals to the song. It's not too surprising though as Miller started Circles prior to his untimely death and was friends with Grande after their severed romance. Miller passed away from an accidental drug overdose in September 2018. He was 26.
To put another another clue on the radar, Grande took to Twitter on Thursday to share an eyebrow-raising message, writing, "I love adding more harmonies than anyone will ever notice or hear that no one ever asked for or needed." This marks the pair's third collaboration after Grande's "This Way" and Miller's "My Favorite Part."
Circles was announced earlier this month and is meant to be a "companion album" to his last album, Swimming. "At the time of his passing, Malcolm was well into the process of recording his companion album to Swimming, entitled Circles. Two different styles complementing each other, completing a circle—Swimming in Circles was the concept," read a family statement.
