J. Cole's Dreamville Foundation Is Helping With Hurricane Florence Relief

Hurricane Florence touched down on the Carolinas last week, wreaking havoc and leaving many residents displaced and in need.

On Wednesday (September 19), J. Cole used his Dreamville Instagram platform to send a message to those in his native Fayetteville, North Carolina, letting the community know he's got its back.

"North Carolina has a very special place in our hearts. The impact of Hurricane Florence has displaced families and has caused unprecedented damage to Fayetteville," the rapper wrote alongside a black and white photo of a woman and truck trudging through flooded streets. "The @DreamvilleFDN is asking for help and asking you to share this so we can spread awareness to help the people of Fayetteville."

The Dreamville Foundation has started a relief initiative that will help with the following:

There will be hot food stations placed throughout the city, temporary housing options for families, and stocking of food pantries/shelters. As well as supporting other local non profits who help provide services for the people in Fayetteville.

Aside from helping with community relief, the organization strives to inspire, empower and encourage urban youth. "Your efforts/donations will help ensure there are no barriers to success for the youth and families in Fayetteville," the Dreamville website states.
