Could this have been a publicity stunt?
After yesterday's (Tuesday) Internet spat with Meek Mill, Wale's new song "The Followers" hit number-one on the Twitter Trending 140.
According to Billboard, the single peaked shortly after Meek had called out his fellow MMG labelmate in a string of tweets for not supporting his new album. Wale responded by saying he has no reason to hate -- and took advantage of the spotlight by dropping a new track. He tweeted, "Just wanna shift the attention back on the art. I was gonna drop it next week, but [eff] it."
The song features a quote from Seinfeld and will likely be on Wale’s next LP, Album About Nothing.
TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- Meek Mill probably feels dumb now. He just gave Wale free promo.
- It's all a stunt. Expect the reconciliation in 3...2...1...
- Does the Twitter Trending 140 really count for anything? It's not putting any money in Wale's pocket.
