Listen to Drake on iHeartRadio

Drake says he'll never make a "straight rap album."  The Young Money emcee tells MTV News that he doesn't want to be confined to one genre, but to "make songs for people."

While "Drizzy" welcomes fans to be a part of his music, he says they shouldn't be surprised when he's "singing or using melody."  Drake adds that he has "aspirations to be Marvin Gaye" and just wants to "sing the world's triumphs and problems on one record."

Drake's third album Nothing Was The Same is set to hit stores on September 24th.
